Strength for the Journey

I've seen many eagles over the years while spending time on the water. However, I feel that they have been watching over us more closely during our fishing excursions as of late. It's almost as if they are messengers, reminding us that we are not alone. Ever.

The eagle pictured below was perched a stone's throw away from our boat (if you have a decent arm). As always, the creature's strength, beauty, and stealth captured me. And with night drawing near, I felt that strange but familiar comfort in its presence.

I look forward to future encounters with my winged friends, and remain grateful for the innumerable fingerprints of God that decorate our lives and strengthen our journey.

"He gives strength to the weary, and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:29
